Abstract:IoTs are currently hot topics in both research and industrial community. In this presentation, Intelligent IoTs (i-IoTs) are defined as a set of the advanced autonomous sensors systems which are featured with sensing, processing and communication capabilities. Such as, Google glass, smart watches, autonomous robots and etc. The i-IoTs have significant potential to provide comprehensive advanced services and can serve as an interface between human and the world. Dr. Shen will brief his recent research outcomes in the research of i-IoT systems and draft a big-picture of his research plan. A couple of potential research problems will also be proposed to inspire the future research with i-IoTs systems.
Short bio: Dr. Yiran Shen is currently leading the research of secured wearable systems in Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART, the research centre of Massachusetts Institute of Technology) as SMART Scholar. Yiran obtained his PhD from University of New South Wales, Australia in 2014 and Bachelor of Engineering from Shandong University in 2010. He was the awardees of the prestigious Google PhD Fellowship and SMART Scholar Fellowship in 2013 and 2014 respectively. His current research interests are mobile/wearable computing, sensor network and autonomous system.
